Once you receive a job offer, you must evaluate the offer carefully - is this the job you really want? Fortunately, most organisations will not expect you to make a decision immediately, although within the current market a quick decision is favourable.

There are many issues to consider when assessing a job offer. 

  • Will the organisation be a good place to work?
  • Does the organisation's core business match your ethics and interests?
  • Will the job be interesting and fulfilling?
  • Are there opportunities for career development?
  • Is the salary and benefits fair and in line with market guidelines?
  • What are the hours of work and location?
  • Is there much travel involved?
  • Have you met your future manager and team?
  • Have you visited the workplace? Does the work environment meet your needs?
